Portrait of A Blue Lady
"I dreamed you were still with me, that your hand reached out and held my cheek. Your hug felt warm and then I woke up, remembering that you are just a memory and our connection transcends an unreachable plane"
I painted "Portrait of A Blue Lady" shortly after the passing of my grandmother. We had a strong bond and it was jarring to have that bond altered. It made me consider our experiences with both the physical world and memory and how the two manifest in our perception of the world. In response, I used my artistry to cherish and commemorate that longing for connection and my experinces with giref and loss following her departure.
